Alicia has served as Associate Pastor for Music and Worship at Peachtree since 1999. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Florida State University, where she studied conducting with Andre Thomas and piano with Karyl Louwenaar. She obtained her Master’s degree in Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, studying with John Dickson and Maurice Hinson. During her time there she received the outstanding recital awards for both her conducting and piano recitals. Currently, she is pursuing the Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in Conducting from the University of Georgia. Alicia served as Minister of Music in churches in Kentucky and Florida prior to coming to Atlanta. She also taught elementary music in Florida, before moving to the secondary level, teaching middle and high school choral music for several years in Wakulla County, and later in DeKalb County.

Alicia is active in several professional organizations including Chorister’s Guild, Georgia Music Educator’s Association, and the American Choral Director’s Association, which she currently serves as President-elect for Georgia. In Baptist life, Alicia is a committee chair for Celebrating Grace: Hymnal for Baptist Worship. She is also Chair of the Steering Team for the newly formed Fellowship of Baptist Pastoral Musicians, which will hold its second gathering in Atlanta in 2009. She was ordained to ministry by Peachtree Baptist Church in August, 1999. Alicia is married to Robert, and they have two sons, Aaron and Levi.
