Alicia has served as Associate Pastor for Music and Worship at Peachtree since 1999. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Florida State University, where she studied conducting with Andre Thomas and piano with Karyl Louwenaar. She obtained her Master’s degree in Church Music from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, studying with John Dickson and Maurice Hinson.  Since completing the Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in Conducting from the University of Georgia, Alicia has joined the music education faculty at UGA, teaching courses in Choral Methods and Choral Literature. Alicia served as Minister of Music in churches in Kentucky and Florida prior to coming to Atlanta. She also taught elementary music in Florida, before moving to the secondary level, teaching middle and high school choral music for several years in Wakulla County, and later in DeKalb County.

Alicia holds memberships in several professional organizations including Chorister’s Guild, the Hymn Society, Georgia Music Educator’s Association, and the American Choral Director’s Association, which she currently serves as President for Georgia. She is the Leadership Team Coordinator for PolyphonyFellowship of Pastoral Musicians, and chaired the committee for Extra-Musical Worship Resources for Celebrating Grace Hymnal.  Alicia is active as a liturgist, writer, and choral clinician. She was ordained to ministry by Peachtree Baptist Church in August, 1999. Alicia is married to Robert, and they have two sons, Aaron and Levi.
