Faith & the Environment
We believe that we are called as Christians to care for and sustain God’s creation. The Faith and the Environment ministry focuses on congregational and community activities that create awareness of earth stewardship and allow us to put our beliefs into practice and become a part of our worship. This is accomplished through educational programs, community events, our community garden, and adopting green practices as a congregation.
Mission
To be Christ in our community by engaging neighborhoods, neighbors and our congregation in stewardship of Godís creation.
Genesis 2:15
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and to take care of it.
Vision
All people in our congregation and our ministry area will accept Godís calling to care for and sustain God’s glorious creation.
Leviticus 25:23-24
The land is mine and you are but aliens and my tenants. Throughout the country that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land.
Goals
Deepen the connection between faith and ecology by creating an awareness of our relationship to Godís creation through worship, teaching and inclusive community activities.
Convey the message of conservation from a Biblical point of view.
Offer practical methods and opportunities to take action for the earth and its resources.
Ezekiel 34:17-18
Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?
