Finding Our Way
July 17, 2009
As people on a journey, we often find ourselves struggling with direction. Which way should we turn? Which path should we choose? Is there a right or wrong direction? Yet, the longer we journey, the more obvious it becomes that God is present even when we lack any sure direction at all (which can be most of the time). As a community of faith, we have been discerning God’s direction for our congregation. Although we have completed our 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting, it seems that there are still more questions than answers. Yet, one thing has become clear. God is with us on the journey. God is present in scriptures that tell the stories of our faith. God is present as we endure life’s struggles together. God is present in new partnerships that we build with our neighbors. God is present as new friends join our faith community. God is present in new ideas of how we can truly show that our hearts and doors are open to everyone. God is with us in easy and difficult times as we continue to journey together.
Perhaps you are trying to find your way – I hope you will consider joining us as we travel together. We may not discover instant answers, but we can encourage one another to seek and share God’s presence along the way.
See You Sunday,
Susan
