Life Together

Date February 20, 2009

In Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s book Life Together, he writes “It is by the grace of God that a congregation is permitted to gather visibly in this world to share God’s Word and sacrament.”  Although we seldom pause to consider our gatherings a luxury, when we are unable to gather together with our church family, we are quickly reminded of the grace and love that lacks fullest expression in our lives.  We may even find that we are not as challenged, not as affirmed and not as motivated to grow in faith.

A way that we are seeking to share life together is through the formation of small groups for prayer, study and fellowship.  These groups will meet on various days and times throughout the week for discussion of the previous week’s sermon and related scripture texts.  Groups will begin meeting the week of March 1st.  I hope that you will seriously consider committing to be a part of one of these groups.  I believe we have a lot to learn from one another as we journey together.

Until Sunday,

Susan
